A couple years ago I learned the importance of handing out business cards. I had just moved into a new apartment complex here in Benbrook and had been chatting in the office with an adorable brunette about my floorplan. By the end of the conversation, I mentioned that I was a photographer and handed over my pink card. I didn’t think much of it after that… until Annabel, the girl who worked at my complex, hit me up on Instagram because she was engaged and needed a wedding photographer!
Fast forward to February 15, 2019. She and Chris are getting married! The day started with prep at the gorgeous Omni Fort Worth in downtown, 15 stories up. I swear on a clear day like that Friday, you could see for miles from that high up. Oh, and it was 80 degrees! We seriously couldn’t have had a more perfect forecast.
Annabel’s mother in law helped her into her gorgeous high-low wedding gown while Annabel’s daughter quietly watched “Daniel Tiger” in the background. After the bride was ready to go, we excitedly rode the elevator down to the lobby to arrange the First Look with her dad. SO CUTE! Sidenote: if you’re not planning on having a first look with your groom-to-be, at least have one with your Dad! It’s just as emotional and special. Anyways, back to the wedding! Just a few blocks away the guys and the kiddos were arriving at the courthouse. I could tell that Chris was a bit nervous yet super excited, so I suggested we do a First Look with Annabel before the two ascended the stairs into the courthouse for their ceremony. As a photographer, I was thinking “YAASSSSSS TWO FIRST LOOKS! BEST DAY EVER!” 😉 I think that helped with the pre-ceremony jitters. Then up the stairs we climbed, four floors up to the place where the best life sentences are handed out by Judge Ralph Swearingen. During the union, Chris and Annabel read hand-written vows to each other while their closest friends and family looked on. Upon being pronounced Man & Wife, we explored a bit of the historic courthouse for portraits, then meandered down Main Street over to Sundance Square for a few more.
What’s so special about this exact spot right here is that it’s where Chris proposed to Annabel. Months later, they stood in the same place as a Husband & Wife.
Congratulations, lovebirds! Here’s to many more years of brunching together, laughing together, and raising a family together. <3 I wish you nothing but the best.
