Autumn is OFFICIALLY here and it brings two of my favorite things: cooler weather and ENGAGEMENT SEASON! It’s that time where the temps are dropping and my inbox is popping with excited emails from freshly engaged couples.
Gabrielle & Andy are one of those pairs who just took the leap into planning their own wedding, and what better way to start off that journey than with an engagement session with Yours Truly at one of the prettiest spots in Fort Worth? Tandy Hills Nature Reserve is somewhat of a hidden gem. It’s simple, natural, and boasts awesome views of the downtown FW skyline. We arrived at golden hour to catch the most gorgeous rays of warm, glowy sunshine and shot through blue hour, ahead of the impending storm. Sidenote–I may say this in almost every blog post, but dang y’all: Texas weather is crazy. Within the first half hour, the skies got super dark and the entire area was completely surrounded with thunderheads. On top of the lighting, the mosquitos and gnats came out to play as well. I cannot stress this enough for my fall clients: BUG SPRAY IS YOUR BFF. West Nile is not.
But back to the lovebirds: HOLY CHEMISTRY, BATMAN. Every single frame was like BAM because Gabrielle was bringing the smize (a la Tyra Banks/ANTM) and Andy just loved on his woman. Andy was telling me at the session that his fiancé is like no one he has ever dated before, but he just had to get to know her. It was love soon after and they’ve been living life together for the past 7 years. When he proposed, he had to go big so he popped the question in the most magical place on Earth: Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Wait til you see the ring, though! 😀
Ahhhh, people in love make my job so easy. Thank you, Gabrielle & Andy, for braving the swarms of bugs like it was nothing for these. I LOVED everything about your session. Can’t wait for the Big Day!
